My specialty is using open source software, such as the WordPress blogging platform, to create both elegant and functional content management system (CMS) based sites that users can administrate themselves. Good looking, well designed sites without the glitz and glam of the typical overdesigned flash fronted pages built by so many egocentric web designers out there.
What this means for you is that you get a site you can use and update yourself at a reasonable price, that your customers will find user friendly and pleasing to the eye.
I lease a full server with a reputable large national hosting company so that I can offer flexibility in my services and design the sites my clients need.
I take the same pride, professionalism and perfectionism in web design that I do in my wood creations. I’ve worked with web development and design in various capacities since 1996. Really since 1996, when working for a large insurance in Indianapolis, IN as a Business Analyst, I was one of only a handful of people in the company with internet access (dial-up), and there I served as a tester on one of the first financial e-commerce applications in the country designed to check account balances and move funds. I’ve also worked as a Business Analyst for IBM, ING, and Intrawest and worked on numerous web related projects for all of these companies.
As a freelance financial writer, over the past eight years, out of frugality I began designing and developing my own sites using open source technologies. Now for my own company, Gaperville Creative, I am combining my experience as a Business Analyst and Project Manager for large corporations with my artistic abilities and own personal design experience. With this background I have a unique understanding of the needs of small businesses.
